Auditing biodigesters for optimal functionality and safety

Sep 4, 2023 | Biodigester

Gaia Envirotech’s commitment to providing waste management solutions goes beyond product design and installation.  Maintaining our waste management solutions to be in optimal condition is essential for efficiency and safety.

Gaia’s Technical Manager, Lachlan Speirs, recently conducted a service visit to the Strathmerton biodigester site, to perform an equipment audit and safety check. Lachlan inspected the plant, ensuring that all parts were functioning as intended. This audit included assessing the state of the biodigester reactors, temperature control systems, mixing equipment and gas collection systems. The audit also extends to evaluating the effectiveness of waste treatment. Adjustments to the process will be recommended based on the audit results, contributing to ongoing optimisation of biogas production.

Lachlan also inspected the plants safety systems, which are installed on all Gaia systems to ensure safe operation and compliance.  These features, such as pressure relief valves, chemical storage areas, gas scrubbing and handling equipment and safety shower, are integrated into Gaia’s operating and automation processes to immediately identify an system issue, and prevent potential safety risks from occurring.

The Gaia team delivers the complete solution package, from design and construct to operations, support, and optimisation. Contact us to find out how we can help you to manage your site’s waste issues.
