Gaia EnviroTech recently conducted a series of tests at its in-house bio laboratory to assess the quality of its compost. The Gaia team routinely tests each batch of final compost as part of their quality control measures.
The tests aimed to determine the compost’s efficacy in supporting plant growth while also ensuring it is free from any unwanted weeds. Through a careful examination, the team observed promising results. Images captured during the testing process revealed robust plant growth in areas where seeds were planted, indicating the compost’s high quality and effectiveness. Conversely, no growth was detected in other areas, affirming the absence of weeds in the compost.

The system in this case study was installed in November 2018 as a 12-month research and development project to establish viability of an anaerobic digestion plant designed to convert dairy effluent to energy and minimise odour.
