During the Melbourne Bioenergy Forum, Gaia EnviroTech had the opportunity to visit Yarra Valley Water’s innovative “ReWaste” facility, where food waste is being transformed into clean energy on an impressive scale.
Yarra Valley Water’s visionary approach to waste management had achieved remarkable results, with over 45,000 tonnes of food waste converted into 10,000 MWh of clean energy – a feat capable of powering thousands of homes. Their goal is generating 100 percent renewable energy by 2025. The Gaia team found themselves inspired by the impact of such forward-thinking initiatives.
It was a great opportunity to witness firsthand the possibilities of bioenergy in action served as a great motivation to further drive positive change across Australia with Gaia’s sustainable waste management solutions.
